It’s Young Horses’ Time!

For Immediate Release - Once again the 2021 Okami Ranch ERCHA/NRCHA Pre Futurity was held in Palacittà Travagliato, Italy. With more than double the number of horses entered from last year’s edition, four days of great competition also offered European cutters the opportunity to show in the herd work classes.  The intense days of showing closed with the crowning of the ERCHA/NRCHA Pre Futurity Champions.

Stealing the show was Markus Schopfer and BeHindeneMyLinz
The young horse sired by Hickory Holly Time out of Smart Shine Ann, owned by Peter Trixner and the italian professional performed to a 216.5 composite score (rein work 72, herd work 72, fence work 72.5) to win the $2,500-added Open Pre Futurity Championship.

Two combinations shared the Reserve Championship; Samuele Poli Barberis aboard Purrsuasion, sired by Meteles Cat out of Spooks Twilight, owned by Az. Agricola Samisa Ranch, with a 214 composite score (rein work 71, herd work 70.5, fence work 72.5); and Giovanni Campanaro riding Maria Teresa Mango’s Great Heartsnake, sired by Great Heartacre out RR Lady Smart Hunter, who scored 70 in rein work, 70.5 in herd work, 73.5 in fence work, which was also the highest score in the cow work.

Italian Santini laid down a great performance
Riding Ans Senorita CD, Andrea Santini performed to a strong 211 composite score (rein work 69.5, herd work 71.5, fence work 70). Their score held and they were crowned 2021 $200-added Okami Ranch ERCHA/NRCHA Limited Open Pre Futurity Champions. Just half-a-point behind, two riders shared the Co-Reserve Championship, Pietro Tuberga with R J One More Rooster (MR Onemore Max x Chinese Rooster), owned by Az Agr Adriano Ponsetto, and Marine Richard aboard Four Seasons Ranch’s Justice Excites Me (SDP Justice Is Comin x Classic Excitement).

The young talent rode to both Non Pro and Amateur Pre Futurity Championships with First Cats Got Luck (Cats Got Freckles x Latexa Glo), owned by Az. Agricola Samisa Ranch, with a total 213 score (rein work 70, herd work 72, fence work 71), took the Reserve Championship in the Amateur Pre Futurity and shared the second place in the Non Pro division aboard his other mount LF Double Climber (Double R Chant x LikeAFallingFeather), also owned also by his family’s Az. Agricola Samisa Ranch (rein work 66, herd work 71, fence work 68.5). With the same 205.5 composite (rein work 66, herd work 71, fence work 68.5), Lorenzo Sivori was also $500-added ERCHA/NRCHA Non Pro Pre Futurity Co-Reserve Champion riding his own LF Double LittleLynx (rein work 68.5, herd work 70, fence work 67).

With a 207.5 composite score (rein work 69, herd work 67, fence work 71.5), Giulia Costelli riding her own Brownie Lady (Smart Rey Pepto x DB Cats Sweet Lady) won the the Non Pro Limited Pre Futurity Championship.
Reserve Honors went to Chloe Litou and Good Time For Dualin (Hickory Holly Time x Dualin Martina). The pair ended up with a 201.5 composite score (rein work 68.5, herd work 66, fence work 67).

The ERCHA Pre Futurity Herd Work classes
Scoring a 72 to win the ERCHA All Ages Herd Work was Samuele Poli Barberis aboard Luca Terzi’s Cats Got Freckles,  an American Quarter Horse stallion sired by Fourteen Million Dollar Sire WR This Cats Smart out of Playboys Girl.
Half a point behind, Sheri Mason with Sannkicker (Sannman x Kick The Cat) under the saddle placed second.

In the All Ages Open Regional Herd Work, a 73 score appeared on the leader board with Gianluca Munarini taking the lead riding Yvonne Bonda’s Lemonade Springs (One Time Pepto x Lovely Lynnie O Lena). With a 70 score, the Italian professional also placed second aboard  another Yvonne Bonda owned horse,;Bet Hesa Five (Bet Hesa Cat x My Other Toys A Car)

Sharing the winning in the ERCHA All Ages Non Pro Herd Work with a 71.5 score, were Amedeo Micucci riding his own Lenas Tazmania (Lenas Starfish x Poo Taz), and Giorgia Girardello with her own Freckles A Smart Cat (WR This Cats Smart x Freckles Gin Fizz) .

With a 73 score, Rosana Bembom riding Willem Bembom’s Smoking Spook (Spooks Smokin Cat x Sweet Huntress) took the ERCHA All Ages Non Pro Herd Work Regional. With a 72 score Willem Bembom riding his own Catty Gucci Girl (Cats Merada x CD Bright Lights ) shared second place with  Sarah Destefanis aboard her own Hot As Wasabi (Little Dulces Rey x Whirlacat).

With a 144.5 composite (rein work 72, fence work 72.5), the ERCHA/NRCHA $300-added Open Hackamore Champions were Markus Schopfer and HipCat for Yvonne Bonda.
French Marie Mura riding her own Woody Choco Pepto (Stylin Dual x Mamaws Little Pepto) won the ERCHA/NRCHA Non Pro Hackamore with a 139 composite (rein work 70.5, fence work 69).
The duo was followed by Italian Piercarlo Filippetto aboard his own Cross Gunner (Gunner Frostbite x Ariela).

Markus Schopfer scored a 146 (rein work 72, fence work 74) aboard Oh Cay Mc (Forty Million Dollar Sire Metallic Cat x Oh Cay Meriah) for owner Yvonne Bonda to win the ERCHA/NRCHA $300-added Open Two Rein. Antoine Cloux rode Brigitte Belin’s Wares The Nurse (WR This Cats Smart x Nurseware) to take reserve honors.

Dr. Peter Kun and his RJ Smart Gunpowder (ILL Be Smart x RJ Tough Feather) topped the ERCHA/NRCHA $100-added Non Pro Two Rein and the ERCHA Non Pro Two Rein Regional classes with a 139.5 composite score (rein work 69, fence work 70.5). With a 135.5 (rein work 68, fence work 67.5) composite score Jacky Molliex-Donjon and his own SA Rock N Ruf (Sailin Ruf x A Time To Rock) took second place as well as the ERCHA Non Pro Two Rein Regional class.

ERCHA Novice Horse Open Champion was Giovanni Campanaro riding WR Smart N Slinky (WR This Cats Smart x Chupikas Real Jewel), owned by Federico Mainolfi. The duo scored 71 in the rein work and 71.5 in the fence work, for a 142.5 total.

With a 138 total composite score (rein work 69.5, fence work 68.5), Sarah Destefanis riding her own Hot As Wasabi (Little Dulces Rey x Whirlacat) topped the ERCHA Novice Horse Non Pro. Reserve honors went to Marilena Mione riding her Mr Cody O Lena (Mr Onemore Max x To Much Powered ) who scored 66.5 in the rein work and 67.5 in the fence work.

The ERCHA/NRCHA Non Pro Limited Bridle Champions, with a 137 composite (rein work 67, fence work 70), were Marta Bossi and DG Reypep Quixote (Roany Rey x Smartys Rockin Scoot). This duo also won the ERCHA Novice Riders class with a 143 score (rein work 71, fence work 72), followed one point behind (rein work 70, fence work 72) by Valentina Beccalli aboard her own CS Thaz Pepper Time (Acres Of Time x Redskin O Lena)

Raimundo Segura rode to ERCHA/NRCHA Non Pro Limited Bridle reserve honors with his own Ans Snack Cat (ANS Mokie Cat x ANS Wyatt Snappy) and a 136 total score ( rein work 65, fence work 71). The duo also topped the Non Pro Limited Bridle Regional class and shared the win with a 134 score (rein work 66, fence work 68) in the ERCHA Novice Riders with Marcello Maritano aboard his own KN Black Jasmin sired by Skeets Dun out of  KN Miss Chic Tari (rein work 67, fence work 67).
With a 133 total (rein work 65, fence work 68), ERCHA/NRCHA 1K Non Pro Limited Bridle champions were Davide Maria Becchio and his own Master N Smoke (Master Kaweah x Rum N Smoke). The duo also topped the ERCHA/NRCHA Beginning Fence Work class with a 128 composite (rein work 65, fence work 63.5).

Winning the ERCHA/NRCHA $250-added Non Pro Bridle was Gabriele Poli Barberis riding the Quarter Horse stallion Highbrow Fletch (Royal Fletch x Lil Sally Cat), owned by Az. Agricola Samisa Ranch. The duo won with a 146 composite score (rein work 72, fence work 74). Valentina Beccalli placed second aboard hes own CS Thaz Pepper Time (Acres Of Time x Redskin O Lena) with 141.5 total score (rein work 70, fence work 71.5).

Charlène Aubreton riding A Reiminic Star placed second with a 137 composite (rein work 70, fence work 67). They also topped the ERCHA Novice Riders class with a 144.5 composite score (rein work 72.5, fence work 72), followed by, in second place, Marco Giacone and Tygun (Gunstar x Pidgeon Poo) with a total score of 141 (rein work 68.5, fence work 72.5).
Winning the ERCHA Novice Riders Regional with a 141.5 (rein work, 68.5, fence work 73) was Carolina Baronetti aboard Lorenzo Sivori’s As Smart Lil Dancer (Itsgoodtobelucio x Smart Sarah).

Taking the ERCHA/NRCHA $600-added Open Bridle Class with a 144 score (rein work 71, fence work 73) was Italian professional Samuele Poli Barberis aboard Luca Terzi Cats Got Freckles(WR This Cats Smart x Playboys Girl), followed by Antoine Cloux with Wares The Nurse, owned by Brigitte Belin, between the reins (rein work 72.5, fence work 70). This duo won also the ERCHA/NRCHA $100-added Limited Open Bridle, and the Swiss rider also placed second, with a 139 composite (rein work 68, fence work 71) his own Barrossab Colonel (Barrossab x Lika Colonel).
Alessandro Tugnoli and Smart Easy Boom (Smart Easy Deal x OT Boompepp) won the ERCHA Open Bridle class.

Winning the ERCHA/NRCHA Novice Non Pro Bridle as well as Novice Non Pro Bridle Regional classes was Peter Trixner aboard his own CR Tuff Boon Pickens (Woody Be Tuff x CR Dees Boon Meow) with a 134 composite (rein work 68, fence work 66). Second place in the ERCHA/NRCHA Novice Non Pro Bridle, with a 132 score (rein work 69, fence work 63), was for Jacky Molliex-Donjon riding his own SA Rock N Ruf (Sailin Ruf x A Time To Rock).
