We are one step closer to crowning the 2022 Eastern Derby Champion. The herd work concluded for the Pre-Futurity and Derby divisions with big scores.


Join us Wednesday, July 13 for the MARS EquestrianTM  Ice Cream Social during the final Tips From The Top: Cow Work with Luke Jones and Clay Volmer. We will also have the Youth poster decorating during that time as well.

Derby Herd Work Leaders

June 10 - We are underway with the Eastern Derby, where the only thing hotter than the scores is the weather!

After two days of rein work, we saw impressive scores from the Derby and Pre-Futurity horses.


The Eastern Derby is a Non Pro-focused event with special Tips From The Top series where NRCHA professionals share their tips and perspective when preparing their horses to show. Thank you to Robert Smith and Sam Smith for hosting the rein work event on Saturday. Mark your calendars for the following Tips From The Top sessions!

About the Dom Conicelli Memorial Eastern Derby, presented by MARS Equestrian
The National Reined Cow Horse Association first produced a premier event east of the Mississippi River in 2020. This year, the Dom Conicelli Memorial Eastern Derby, presented by MARS Equestrian™, is held July 8-16, in Cordova, Tennessee, (outside of Memphis) and is a special Non Pro-focused show. The third annual premier event will offer a full slate of horse show classes in addition to a Derby. The show’s namesake, Dom Conicelli, was well known for his support of the reined cow horse sport, especially on the East Coast. The late Collegeville, Pennsylvania, resident, who died in October 2018, was one of the founders of the Atlantic Reined Cow Horse Association. Just prior to his death, he was inducted into the NRCHA Hall of Merit. Stay tuned to our event page for up-to-date information.
