Americana 2019 NCHA European Non Pro Championship: It's a win for Maurizio Battista Sandei & Iminent Cat

Following the qualifier, 11 horse-rider-combinations made it to the final of the €6,000-added AMERICANA NCHA European Non Pro Championship. Taking the win with a 150 score was Italian Maurizio Battista Sandei with his Iminent Cat between the reins.

“I’m very happy about this show and about this win; it’s been an amazing week for us. My horse is super solid and he never miss a chance to demonstrate it,” said Sandei about his mount. "We plan to compete in the upcoming NCHA of Italy Maturity in Voghera, Italy, and then we’ll think about Equita Lyon. I really want to thank my trainer, Martina Annovazzi and all the amazing Rosy O’ Grady team!”
 
Iminent Cat is a 7-year-old gelding by 23 Million Dollar Sire Metallic Cat out of Play Peek A Boon, bred by Oxbow Ranch, TX. He was trained by Beau Galyean, who boasts $3,877,985.94 NCHA Earnings, and as 4-year-old flew to Italy where Martina Annovazzi took over the reins, and they posted the highest score ever earned in European cutting competition: a 78 at the 2019 Spring Show, Salone del Cavallo Americano, Cremona, Italy.
Iminent Cat was also  NCHA Non-Pro World Cup Reserve Champion in the 2017 AMERICANA edition.
 
Yvonne Heinzer and her Snappy Hunter, the go round leaders, placed second scoring a 147 taking home the Reserve Championship. The Swiss rider had purchased her 6-year-old mare by Be A Smart Hunter out of Sweetly Snapper four years ago from renowned cutting and reining horse breeder Roberto Cuoghi of Italy and was trained by professional Sheri Mason. The duo is  the 2018 NCHA European Amateur Champion.
