It’s finally done: on August 18 at 12 a.m., the new DQHA President Thomas Dixon signed the amendment of the statute for the German Quarter Horse Association before a notary. So that, from now on, the "AQHA Breeding Stud Book" will be kept as guideline instead of the previously used ”Original Breeding Stud Book ".

After Jake Brown (Cleveland, Texas) and Orin Larsen (Inglis, Manitoba) advanced to the showdown round tied courtesy of matching 86.5-point rides, the two quickly became immersed in a shootout for the $12,500 Major payday in the showdown round. Outscoring Larsen, the victor from the 2020 Royal City Roundup who was seeking his second win in the Triple Crown, by 0.5 points, Brown delivered a critical 87.5-point ride on Top Flight to capture the victory.

The world’s No. 1 bull rider who had looked invincible finally faltered in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and a World Champion stepped up to win significant points and tighten the PBR title race.
As the revival of the iconic PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Bullnanza, part of the elite Unleash The Beast, wound to a close today, perennial contender Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) iced the competition to win his first elite tour event in 2020, gaining significant ground in the world standings and on No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil).

Ty Moore wins Non-Pro 4-Year-Old Derby
Aug 17 - Ty Moore, Madill, Okla., showing Miss Blu Boon LTE $39,123, scored 222 points for his fourth West Texas Futurity championship win, and $9,000. Moore, the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $1,190,648, won the 2008 Amateur 5/6 Classic riding Hey Georgy Girl LTE $130,829; the 2009 Non-Pro Limited 4-Year-Old Derby with Heavens Little Angel LTE $46,097; the 2017 Non-Pro 3-Year-Old Futurity on Sweet Sister Cat LTE $60,932, a daughter of Heavens Little Angel; and last year’s Non-Pro 3-Year-Old Futurity with Tweezin My Brow LTE $82,739.

Colten Jesse Moves to No. 4 in the World With Win at PBR's Event in Bismarck
The world’s best cowboys and bucking bulls clashed Saturday night in Bismarck to decide the first event of the 2020 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) second half, accompanied by loudly cheering fans during a dramatic, high-scoring championship round as one rider topped another, and the real human voices in the grandstands of the Bismarck Civic Center sure sounded beautiful.
As the PBR Dakota Community Bank & Trust Invitational presented by Cooper Tires came to a close, Colten Jesse (Konawa, Oklahoma) stood atop the Can-Am cage in the center of the dirt with a triumphant smile on his face following a title-clinching 92.25-point trip aboard Sky Harbor (Dakota Rodeo/ Chad Berger/ Clay Struve/ Wilks Ranch). Jesse put up the highest score of the weekend when it counted most to win the first event win of his career on the Unleash The Beast (UTB).

More than 5,075 entries from the United States and Canada are competing for 42 world championships, 33 Adequan®Level 2 and 39 Nutrena Level 1 championship titles at this year’s event, July 29 -August 8 at OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association regretfully announces the cancellation of the 2020 All American Quarter Horse Congress, scheduled for September 29 - October 25.
