On Sunday, June 23, Peeptos Cat scored 221.5 points to win the NCHA Transwest Western Nationals, presented by 6666 Ranch, $25,000 Novice championship under Mike Wood, who also showed reserve champion Little Jackson Cat, with a score of 221. Gettin Hott In Here placed third with 219 points under Ryan Moore.

Belgian Gudrun Patteet became the third woman to win a Longines Grand Prix in the Longines Masters series following Pénélope Leprévost of France in 2011 and Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander in 2018. Leprévost and Tops-Alexander both took the title in Paris, but Patteet has now secured one for the women in Lausanne. Perhaps it was the brisk mountain air or the magnificent view of Lake Geneva that gave Patteet an extra boost of inspiration, for it was a ride as perfect as the setting. Second place went deservingly to Italian Giulia Martinengo Marquet.

The 2019 National Reining Horse Association Derby presented by Markel Insurance provided a week of thrills and excitement for exhibitors, owners, sponsors, and spectators, escalating to a crescendo on Open finals night, Saturday, June 22. We’ve nearly lost count of the number of speed-class wins stolen by the black mare Carlotta and her Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano. They have taken titles in every continent. It goes without saying that one day they would add the Longines Speed Challenge, the fastest class in the world, to their list of impressive accolades. After several attempts, it is Lausanne that gave them the honor.

The challenging Masters One - Prix du Canton de Vaud has had only six clear rounds on its base course. Of these six, three are members of the Riders Lab. The Riders Lab offers the opportunity for the most promising young riders to compete in the Longines Masters international series. In the end, it was young Bryan Balsiger who won this round in the fashion of a master with Dubai du Bois Pinchet.

There are only two British riders present at the first Longines Masters in Lausanne, but Great Britain is well represented in the results. In one of the most spectacular classes of the competition, the Masters Power, British rider Laura Renwick was the only one to clear 2.01m without penalty. Karpacz, June 21 - Provided by International Horse Press — For the fourth consecutive year, the ERCHA/NRCHA Hackamore Classic, open to 4- and 5-year-old horses ridden in a hackamore, was hosted by Western Academy, in Western City, a facility located in Karpacz, Poland. The idea of moving the prestigious event to Eastern Europe comes from ERCHA President, Markus Schopfer. “Central Eastern ERCHA, along with president Tomas Barta, has been actively taking part in NRCHA approved ERCHA shows held around Europe, reason why we felt we should move the Hackamore Classic to Poland in order to further promote our sport there,” said Schopfer. “The high standard of horses and riders, and the level of competition gets better every year. The hospitality is great and we are very pleased with our choice.”

Enchanting sights, spectacular setting, magical place…are just some of the praises the riders have used to describe the venue of the very first Longines Masters event in Lausanne. Said Caroline Ratignan, the American rider who captured the very first victory in Lausanne in the Masters Three - 1.15m, “The venue is amazing…to be right on the water with the mountains in the background is just surreal.” The very first event of the Masters One was seized by none other than the speedy Italian, Emanuele Gaudiano.
