The second day of competition in Cremona, Italy  where the eleventh edition of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Futurity is held saw the second section of the €162,223– added (subject to change in nominations) NRHA European Open Futurity qualifier.

Roberto Cuoghi, president of the Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA), announced that on March 5 the IRHA Board of Directors voted to change the dates of the 2019 IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity — held concurrently with the finals of the Italian Championship — to November 22-30.

Cira Baeck is the second female, and first European and open female, to join the list of Million Dollar Riders. Baeck flew into the next level of her career with two top qualifying rides during the Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA) Futurity Level(L) 4 Open Finals atop NF Shining Whiz and Sailorsacrofpride BB.

Belgian Professional Bernard Fonck became the first European-based trainer to achieve the status of National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Two Million Dollar Rider.
Fonck unofficially surpassed the milestone at the  Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA) Futurity in Cremona, Italy, where he took the Level 4 Open Championship aboard Spook Sunburst.

The CremonaFiere oval arena lit up on Friday night as the Euro100,000-added Santa Hill IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA 3-year-old Non Pro Futurity finalists performed. Making history by being the first rider from Spain to conquer the prestigious title in Italy was Andreu Nogue Puig who took the Level (L)4, 3, 2, 1 Championships riding his A Whiz N Cash.  In a field of 40 riders across the four levels, Nogue laid down an amazing NRHA Pattern #12 paid back by the judges with a 218.5.

The fifth day of competition at the 2018 IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity determined the Euro 390.000-added 3-year-old Open Futurity finalists.

The 2018 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Open Futurity Finals featured a field 70 horses deep across the four levels and prime time division. At the end of the night after the last score had been announced, NRHA Million Dollar Rider Jason Vanlandingham, riding A Vintage Smoke for owner Diane Mesmer, secured the title of 2018 NRHA Open Level (L) 4 Futurity Champion.
