National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Update: May 24-31 Dates Confirmed Until Further Notice
The National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) board and management team and the Great Southwest Equestrian Center continue planning to hold the NRBC May 24-31 if Texas and Harris County restrictions from the Covid-19 Virus permit. In a meeting held April 16, Amy Uniss-Coleman, General Manager of the GSEC along with Tom McCutcheon, Colleen McQuay, Tim McQuay, Pete Kyle, Dell Hendricks and Cheryl Cody discussed the future of the event.
2020 NRHA European Affiliate Championships Canceled
The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Executive Board met to discuss the 2020 NRHA European Affiliate Championships in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Due to governmental restrictions surrounding the pandemic, the European Affiliate Championships can’t be held in Denmark in July.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the NRHA European Executive Board met to discuss qualification for the NRHA European Affiliate Championship, to be held this summer (6-11 July) in Regstrup, Denmark.
The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Looks Forward to Going Back to the Show Pen
For Immediate Release – March 28, 2020 – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Just two short weeks ago, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) made swift decisions regarding COVID-19, including instructing the office team to work remotely for at least two weeks and issuing a statement strongly encouraging event producers to postpone or cancel all NRHA-approved events through March 30, 2020. NRHA officials carefully considered both of these decisions and understand their far-reaching implications on the industry as a whole. Following is an update on those situations as well as decisions made this week by the NRHA Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
2020 National Reining Breeders Classic Rescheduled to May 24-31
Following a board meeting earlier today, the NRBC has announced that this year's show will be rescheduled for May 24-31, 2020.
NRHA Announces Judge’s Rating System
During the 2020 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) winter meeting, members learned about a new judge’s rating system that’ll be used on a trial basis during 2020. The rating system aims to serve as a guideline for show management in regard to hiring judges.
NRHA Winter Meeting Recap
The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) hosted its annual winter meeting in Denton, Texas, February 5–8, 2020. NRHA committees met to discuss plans for 2020 and beyond for the sport.
“The NRHA Board and the committees continue to produce good results for NRHA,” said NRHA President Mike Hancock. “Groundbreaking news about the added money for the 2020 NRHA Open and Non Pro Futurities along with the Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships was announced by a new task force. 2020 NRHA European Futurity Update
The European Executive Board met today to discuss the opportunities and possibilities for the rescheduling of the 2020 NRHA European Futurity due to the spreading of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in northern Italy, particularly where the European Futurity was supposed to be held in Cremona, Italy. In an effort to ensure that sure the event’s rescheduling is handled efficiently but not rushed, the European Executive Board has decided to review all options for the event's location. Communication will be sent within 30 days from today, February 26, 2020, to announce where and when the 2020 NRHA European Futurity will be held.

NRHA Welcomes Newest Affiliate: South Africa
The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) welcomed South Africa as the newest international affiliate this fall. Greg and Lizelle Garland, NRHA members from South Africa, toyed with the idea of starting an affiliate for about three years before diving in headfirst. Officially recognized in July 2019, the South African affiliate hosted three shows in a span of just two months: the first in August and two more in October.
