Team Belgium enjoyed a perfect day today when not only winning the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ 2022 Final but also earning a qualifying spot for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It was their third victory since the Longines Final was first established at the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona, Spain back in 2013. They came out on top in 2015, and then did it again three years later, but today’s success was particularly sweet.

The reining world said goodbye to one of its most successful broodmares on September 27, 2022, when Miss Tinseltown (Great Red Pine X Ms Holywood Showtime) passed.

Shawn Flarida, an icon in the National Reining Horse Association, recently passed a major career milestone. The charismatic trainer, who hails from Springfield, Ohio, became only the second NRHA member in history to pass more than $7,000,000 in lifetime earnings.

The W.T. Waggoner Estate and King Ranch have been breeding American Quarter Horses for 100 years.

The American Quarter Horse Association is proud to recognize two historic Texas ranches that have been breeding American Quarter Horses for 100 consecutive years: W.T. Waggoner Estate and the King Ranch. Even though the Association and its registry were founded in 1940, these two ranches already had horse herds, several of which were inspected and admitted for registration with AQHA.

FORT WORTH – In response to the feedback from NCHA membership and at the recommendation of event producer Taylor Sheridan, the National Cutting Horse Association announces that earnings from the 2023 Run For A Million cutting competition will no longer count for the Open world standings and will instead count towards horse and rider lifetime earnings.

Dowers crossed the Million Dollar Rider earnings mark when he earned at the National Stock Horse Association Futurity Open Champion title aboard Cabanna Boy. With $1,006,910.74 in NRCHA earnings to his name, Dowers is now part of an elite group of reined cow horse competitors.

FORT WORTH – The first qualifier for the 2023 Run For A Million cutting competition will be held at the upcoming Brazos Bash held at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, from October 4 through 17, 2022.
This innovative event will showcase the sport of cutting on a new level while introducing the sport to a fresh audience through the fan base the Run For A Million has developed over the years since its inception with reining horses. The sport of cutting is the pinnacle of Western sports and being showcased on this stage will offer the sport tremendous growth opportunity both in and out of the arena.

The western riding scene has reacted with great sadness to the death of Horst Geier. The initiator and longtime manager of Americana passed away this week at the age of 79. Horst was one of the great visionaries of European western riding and western horse breeding, who, among other things, made Americana what it is today. "We were saddened to learn of the death of our longtime business partner and companion Horst Geier," said AFAG management. "Our thoughts are with his family and all his friends!"
