MILL SPRING, N.C. (October 7, 2023) – After three days of competition at the inaugural Rodeo Carolina, the richest rodeo event east of the Mississippi, the WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) has announced the final list of athletes who will compete in the Triple Crown of Rodeo Round on October 8 at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort in Mill Spring, North Carolina.

Martha Angelone Wins 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship All-Around Cowgirl

FORT WORTH, Texas – After an electric record-setting season, Martha Angelone (Cross Junction, Virgina) emerged the supreme competitor, delivering a clutch final day of the all-around race in Fort Worth, Texas, to be crowned the 2023 WRWC (Women’s Rodeo World Championship) All-Around World Champion, earning the accompanying $20,000 bonus and Coats saddle.

Wrangler BFI Week Breaks Records, Pays Out Nearly $4 Million

Wrangler BFI Week, anchored by the 46th annual Bob Feist Invitational Team Roping on April 1, paid out a record $3.88 million to ropers and drew more than 2,000 teams. The event, running March 29 through April 4, was comprised of 13 separate ropings over seven days in Guthrie, Oklahoma’s Lazy E Arena. Aired live on the Wrangler Network, 112,000 viewers at home watched more than 3.3 million minutes of team roping.

Star Kaycee Feild continues to work his NFR magic in Round 1

LAS VEGAS – Kaycee Feild left the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after becoming the PRCA’s all-time leader in bareback riding world titles with six.
A year later, he shows no signs of slowing down.
Feild had an 87.5-point ride on Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics’ Bronc Riding Nation to win Round 1 of the 2022 Wrangler NFR presented by Teton Ridge before 16,929 spectators Thursday at the Thomas & Mack Center.

LAS VEGAS – Martha Angelone's mission is complete.

The Stephenville, Texas, cowgirl captured her inaugural breakaway roping world championship after taking care of business Wednesday at the 2022 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping presented by Teton Ridge.
Angelone, who came into the NFBR with a $37,009 lead in the world standings, kept her grip on her lead to claim the coveted title at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center.

LAS VEGAS – Shelby Boisjoli arrived at the 2022 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping presented by Teton Ridge Tuesday with nothing to lose and that is exactly how she roped.

Coming into the event sixth in the world standings, the Stephenville, Texas, cowgirl trailed world standings leader Martha Angelone by $44,745.

2022 Women’s Rodeo World Championship Concludes and Crowns Four Event Champions

Following this week’s electric Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) event inside the historic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, not only are there new event champions crowned, but the event reached a new level of dominant competition.
 
The ferociously contested Breakaway Roping Event Championship race capped off a slug-fest between Martha Angelone (Stephenville, Texas), and barrel racer/breakaway roper Britta Strain (Bryan, TX).
Backed by a strong showing, including tying for the fastest time of the week, Angelone surged to the top of the breakaway roping leaderboard after a 2.05-second time to win the showdown round, besting Strain’s 2.29-second run. The 3x WRWC qualifier entered the Triple Crown of Rodeo Round alongside Strain and Jenna Dallyn (Nanton, AB).
