The six-bar event is without a doubt one of the most impressive in any jumping competition. Technique, power, control, precision... it takes everything, and just as much for the rider as the horse!

In this event presented by Renault, the young riders faced off against their elders in this high jump demonstration. In the end it was the Danish Emil Hallundbaek, just 21-years-old, who won with his 10-year-old Holsteiner Cool Hand Luke 3. They were one of two pairs to clear the 1.95m hurdle, but unfortunately for the French Olympic champion Philippe Rozier, despite clearing the ultimate jump he caught the rail at the preceding fence. The win was a surprise for the Danish young rider as it was just his second six-bar event. "This is the second time in my life that I've entered in a six-bar event, and it was Cool hand Luke's first. I did a little bit at home on Tuesday and it went perfectly, which made me want to participate in this class! This is the first time I've cleared a jump at such a height. I did not except this victory at all, even though I had complete confidence in my horse's ability to jump that high," said Hallundbaek.
