Hubside Jumping Returns to Grimaud, France, as Competition Resumes

Show jumping at its best international level is finally getting underway again! And although the Gulf of Saint-Tropez has long been the place where the jet set of the film world meets up in the summer, it will unquestionably be the HQ of the world elite of show jumping this summer. The HUBSIDE JUMPING will be settling in Grimaud, at the Haras des Grillons, for four weekends of great sport, on the initiative of Sadri Fegaier, the president-founder of the Haras, successful businessman and international rider. We look forward to seeing you on 18 June for a first CSI 4*show. Two other CSI 4* shows will follow and a CSI 5* from now until 12 July. The second season of the HUBSIDE JUMPING will bring the best riders together more than ever, if the number of influential calls that the organiser has received in the last few days is anything to go by! Located in the renovated Ecuries du Golfe de Saint-Tropez, which are now the Haras des Grillons de Grimaud, the HUBSIDE JUMPING boasts a very attractive calendar: . From 18 to 21 June, a CSI 4*, a CSI 2* and a CSI 1*, . From 25 to 28 June, a CSI 4*, a CSI 2* and a CSI 1*, . From 2 to 5 July, a CSI 5*, a CSI 2* and a CSI 1*, . From 9 to 12 July, a CSI 4*, a CSI 2* and a CSI 1*.

Show jumping came to a halt in Europe on 15 March. The last CSI5* show (the highest international level in the FEI’s hierarchy) featured on the Fédération Equestre International’s calendar and organised in France, was back on 23 February. France is the leading country in the world in terms of the organisation international show jumping competitions (Concours de Saut d’obstacles Internationaux - CSI). It hasn’t played host to the elite of riders and horses, those who take part in 4 and 5-star level competitions, since 9 February at the CSI5*-W of Bordeaux. This is why the next HUBSIDE JUMPING shows are highly anticipated! And all the more so, as many summer events have already been cancelled and the European calendar for the coming months is just a shadow of what it should have been. The first season of the HUBSIDE JUMPING last year was greatly appreciated by everyone! “A fantastic show, an incredible ring, and a wonderful welcome”, summed up Rodrigo Pessoa, the Olympic Champion. “As riders we are lucky to be able to perform in such great conditions”, added another Olympic champion, France’s Roger-Yves Bost. As for John Whitaker, the legendary British rider, he also sang the event's praises and even said that he was “very impressed and couldn’t wait to come back.”

Focus on the first weekend of competition, from 18 to 21 June 2020 The first weekend of the HUBSIDE JUMPING will be held behind closed doors, and will fully comply with the sanitary measures imposed by the French and international administrative and sports authorities. All of the classes will be broadcast live on https://grandprix.tv/fr ;Only those who can prove their status as a professional rider will be able to participate. Three levels of competition will be on offer to them on courses designed by Italy’s Andrea Colombo and will boast 290,000 euros of prize money, of which 100,000 euros will be for Sunday’s 4* Grand Prix. The competition will take place in one of the biggest outdoor rings in France, (120 x 70 m), next to a 100 x 50 m warm-up ring. The show’s surroundings are very picturesque and provide the HUBSIDE JUMPING with an exceptional backdrop with the 11th century castle, fields of lavender and rocky cliffs!
