Perfect 3-for-3 Performance Vaults Brazilian to No. 8 in the World
The 2020 Bad Boy Mowdown was sweet redemption for Brazilian Ramon De Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil).
The rider who was cut from PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) top tour at this event on year ago put up a walk-off 90.5-point ride to punctuate a perfect 3-for-3 performance in Simmons Bank Arena to win his first event of 2020 and soar to No. 8 in the world.

After finishing tied for fourth in Round 1, Lima gritted out back-to-back rides on Saturday night to best the field by one bull. Round 2 handed Lima a matchup with Rocket Man (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls), where the veteran 29-year-old athlete came out on top with a score of 87.5 points.
Lima selected Big Black (K-C Bucking Bulls/Joe & Nina Webb) with the first pick of the championship round draft, and on the final out of the weekend notched a 90.5-point trip, the weekend’s highest marked ride, to win the 2020 Bad Boy Mowdown.
“Cowboys have ups and downs; I never stopped believing in myself and got the first 90-point ride of my career,” Lima said after his walk-off win. “I knew he was a great bull. He’s hard in the chute. I was prepared, and it worked out great.”
For his performance, including a championship round win, Lima earned $45,203.97, and 116 crucial world points. As the PBR Unleash The Beast’s (UTB) first half nears its mid-point, Lima is the No. 8 rider in the world.

UTB newcomer Andrew Alvidrez (Seminole, Texas) earned his career-best finish, sitting in second once the dust settled.
After covering Lockdown (Cleve Garey/Leap Of Faith/DD Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 for 85 points, Alvidrez got aboard Non-Profit (D&H Cattle Company) in Round 2. Hearing the 8-second whistle over a roaring crowd, the Texas cowboy was marked 87.5 points, putting him in second heading into the championship round.
Tasked with Hocus Pocus (D&H Cattle/Barthold/Almand) in the short-go, Alvidrez was sent spinning to the dirt in 2.84 seconds.
The second-place finish paid the newcomer $14,982.97 along with 64.5 world points, launching him to the No. 22 spot in the world standings.
After winning Round 1 on Friday night, Joao Ricardo Vieira (Itatinga, Brazil) headed to The American to ride for a $1 million prize on Saturday, but was still able to finish third in the 2020 Bad Boy Mowdown.
His 89.5-point trip aboard Crossover (GT Bucking Bulls) on Friday night withstood Saturday’s competition in Simmons Bank Arena for the third-place finish, earning 56 world points and $12,022.31. Vieira closed world No. 2 Jess Lockwood’s (Volborg, Montana) lead to just 21.25 points.
2018 World Finals champion Marco Eguchi (Poa, Brazil) finished the event in fourth. Eguchi hit the dirt in 6.62 seconds in Round 1 aboard Landslide (Hodges/Schuler), but rebounded in Round 2 by covering Let’s Gamble (Hodges/Shuler/Flying S) for 89.25 points, which earned him the round win.
Speed Demon (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls) proved too much for Eguchi in the championship round, dispatching the Brazilian in 5.27 seconds.
Eguchi earned 41 world points for finishing fourth, along with $9,158.97. The veteran now sits in the No. 14 spot in the world.
Finishing with his second straight Top-10 performance, Ezekiel Mitchell (Rockdale, Texas) was back in the money in Little Rock, riding to fifth place, and moving up to No. 21 in the world. After a quick 2.88-second out in Round 1 on Little Hott (TM Cattle Co./BS Cattle Co.), Mitchell also bounced back in Round 2.
Shownuff (Blake Sharp/Henry Wilson) gave Mitchell the bull power to go 88.75 in Round 2, pushing him into the championship round, where Air Support (Braun/Cooper) sent the Texan flying in 3.1 seconds.
During the trip, Air Support earned the YETI Built for the Wild Bull of the Event title, as he was marked 45.75 points.
Mitchell leaves the banks of the Arkansas River with $6,828.97, as well as 27 world points.
