PBR and WCRA Unite for Fan-Attended, Blockbuster Western Sports Weekend in Oklahoma August 14-15

More than 60 Oklahoma athletes anticipated to compete in home state including PBR world No. 5-ranked bull rider Colten Jesse (Konawa), two-time and reigning WPRA Breakaway Champion Kelsie Chace (Cherokee), and Oklahoma City’s own steer wrestler Tory Johnson

On Aug. 14-15, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) and WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) will once again unite to make Western sports history, teaming to bring the two-day, blockbuster Stampede at The E to Guthrie, Oklahoma and Lazy E Arena Aug. 14-15. The landmark event will begin on Friday, August 14 at 7:45 p.m. CT with Round 1 of the PBR Unleash The Beast’s revival of the iconic Bullnanza. The event, which traces its history back to 1989, prior to the inception of the PBR, will conclude with Round 2 and the championship round on Saturday, August 15 at 12:45 p.m. CT. Following PBR’s premier series event, the action-packed weekend will conclude with the WCRA’s one-day, $300,000 Major Rodeo, the Stampede at the E, part of the Triple Crown of Rodeo, on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT. Holding the event amidst the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, PBR is operating within a strict set of health and safety protocols created in cooperation with local and state government as well as Lazy E Arena.
 
Among the star-studded line-up of athletes anticipated to compete include upwards of 60 Oklahoman’s such as – world No. 5 Colten Jesse (Bull Rider - Konawa), Ryan Dirteater (Bull Rider - Hulbert), Brennon Eldred (Bull Rider - Sulphur), Michelle Darling (Barrel Racer - Medford), two-time and reigning WPRA Breakaway Champion Kelsie Chace (Breakaway Roping - Cherokee), Bridger Anderson (Steer Wrestling – Alva), and Oklahoma City’s own Tory Johnson (Steer Wrestling).
 
Specific to Dirteater, on the heels of his retirement announced in January, the PBR Unleash The Beast’s Bullnanza may be the last time he competes on the league’s elite tour in his home state.

Once the portal is closed all applications will be reviewed and approval/denial emails will be sent no later than Tuesday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. CDT. For those outlets who would like to request a credential but are uncertain on exact personnel, please not the number of spaces requested for best evaluation. If you will desire any interviews for either the PBR and/or WCRA event, please note that with as much specificity as possible within the application.
