Stetson Lawrence was about as surprised as those watching at home when he learned that his Team Cooper Tires teammate Sage Kimzey would not be getting on his second bull on Saturday night.
The reigning six-time PRCA champion had aggravated a chronic right elbow injury during his 3.44-second buckoff against Skitso in Round 1 of Team Cooper Tires game against Team YETI and was unable to continue.

Continuing his seemingly unstoppable form seen thus far in 2020, current PBR (Professional Bull Riders) world No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio, Pardo, Brazil) delivered a flawless 2-for-2 performance inside a pulsating, closed-to-fans, made-for-TV bullriding set within the Pendleton Whisky Let ‘Er Buck Saloon at South Point Arena to lead Team Cooper Tires to victory Friday evening during Challenge Day 1 of the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge, presented by U.S. Border Patrol. Leme rode Squeeze Box (Hodges/Shuler) for 84.25 points and Livin Lucky (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) for 84.75 points, propelling his contingent’s dominant 336.25-87 victory over Team Can-Am. Alongside Captain Leme, six-time PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) Champion Sage Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma), three-time PBR Global Cup qualifier Stetson Lawrence (Williston, North Dakota) and young gun Mauricio Gula Moreira (Gaviao Peixoto, Brazil) also recorded scores.

Ahead of the newly-launched PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Monster Energy Team Challenge, presented by U.S. Border Patrol, the league has announced the rosters and competition schedules for the six teams set to compete in Division A of the new tournament.
The PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge will feature 48 of the world’s top professional bull riders split into 12 teams and two divisions, facing off throughout June at the Pendleton Whisky Let ‘Er Buck Saloon at South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada until two teams remain to compete for the championship in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in front of a live arena crowd.

Following an unprecedented slate of events, the first half of the 2020 Unleash The Beast has drawn to a close.
Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, a number of events were cancelled or postponed, but the PBR soldiered on with four events that were closed to the public, ending the first half of the season under extraordinary circumstances.

World Championship Will Pay Equal Money in Each Discipline

WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) and PBR (Professional Bull Riders) announced additional details today regarding the Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC), taking place at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on November 3-7.
 
The world championship event is open to any female athlete competing in breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping and will award a $750,000 guaranteed payout with equal money in all four disciplines. The event will also award a Women’s Rodeo All-Around Champion.

As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Lucas Oil Invitational, presented by U.S. Border Patrol, wound to a close Sunday afternoon, the world’s Top 35 bull riders, and some of the rankest bucking bulls on the planet, punctuated the historic closed-to-fans Unleash The Beast event with a championship round that won’t soon be forgotten.
In the waning moments of the third weekend at the closed-to-fans Lazy E Arena, on a day where the bulls were ferociously feisty, the final three riders erupted for monstrous 90-point rides and one bovine athlete posted the high-marked bull score of the entire 2020 season.

At the historic third closed-to-fans PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast event inside Lazy E Arena in Logan County, Oklahoma, the world’s Top 35 bull riders continued to pioneer the return of professional sports in an empty arena on a night where the bovine athletes reigned supreme.

With bull power in full force, only six cowboys recorded qualified rides on the opening night of the two-day PBR Lucas Oil Invitational, presented by U.S. Border Patrol.

World leader Jose Vitor Leme won his PBR-leading fourth event of the season with a flawless 3-for-3 showing at the PBR Cooper Tires Invitational, presented by Ariat, at the Lazy E Arena.
Leme now has a season-high 235-point lead atop the world standings on No. 2 and reigning World Champion Jess Lockwood. Lockwood is not expected to return to competition until the middle of September as he continues to recover from surgery on his left hamstring.
