PBR Fans Can Watch Three Events This Sunday

This weekend, while PBR (Professional Bull Riders) is on hiatus, fans will still be able to see televised action of the sport’s top bull riders attempting the rankest bulls on the planet.
On Sunday, March 22, CBS Sports Network will telecast a five-hour marathon featuring several crucial events thus far in the 2020 PBR World Championship race.

Jess Lockwood Says Recovery Going Well

Two-time World Champion Jess Lockwood was like many PBR fans this weekend as he posted up at home in Texas to tune in to the CBS Sports Network broadcast of the Gwinnett Invitational.
Lockwood, of course, was checking in on his brother Jake Lockwood, who finished the Gwinnett Invitational, 1-for-3.

Gene Owen went outside to feed his livestock on Tuesday morning in Big Cabin, Oklahoma, and he could not help but laugh at what he saw.
Down the alleyway of his backpens, Owen saw Cochise standing in the middle and rubbing his head against one of the fences.
Owen had decided to retire Cochise less than 24 hours earlier, and the 9-year-old bull had snuck out of his pen in the middle of the night.

- First PREMIER Bank PREMIER Bankcard Invitational event set to take place at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Friday, April 3, Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
- Billings Invitational, presented by Cooper Tires, event set to take place at First Interstate Arena – MetraPark on Friday, April 17, Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 in Billings, Mont.
- Ty Murray Invitational, presented by Isleta Resort & Casino, event set to take place at Dreamstyle Arena at the Pit on Friday, April 24, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 in Albuquerque, N.M.

In light of global health concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), the PBR Unleash The Beast Glendale Invitational event set to take place at Gila River Arena on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday March 22 in Glendale, Ariz. has been canceled. PBR is evaluating rescheduling options for the premier series event.

Brazilian Wins Second Premier Series Event and is Now No. 6 in the World
 
As PBR (Professional Bull Riders) brought fans a closed for-TV-only event this weekend in light of global health concerns, Brazilian Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil) was able to ride his way to a $35,000 victory payday with a perfect 3-for-3 performance.

For the second week in a row, on an unprecedented night best described as “surreal,” a rookie put up a big ride to move up the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) world standings.
Living the American dream after arriving in the country less than three months ago, Mauricio Gula Moreira (Gaviao Peixoto, Brazil) earned more money on this night than his entire 2019 earnings. Moreira got his fellow riders on their feet, as the only others in attendance, with an 87.75-point conquering of Freakin Wicked (David Rodeo Ranch/Fogle).

Perfect 3-for-3 Performance Vaults Brazilian to No. 8 in the World
The 2020 Bad Boy Mowdown was sweet redemption for Brazilian Ramon De Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil). 
The rider who was cut from PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) top tour at this event on year ago put up a walk-off 90.5-point ride to punctuate a perfect 3-for-3 performance in Simmons Bank Arena to win his first event of 2020 and soar to No. 8 in the world.

Vieira Collects 20 World Points to Close No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme’s Lead

Keeping his early-season winning ways going, Brazilian João Ricardo Vieira (Itatinga, Brazil) took home the Round 1 win at the 2020 Bad Boy Mowdown inside Simmons Bank Arena, on the banks of the Arkansas River. The veteran Vieira was able to make it to the 8-second whistle aboard Crossover (GT Bucking Bulls) in section six of action on night one of two. Masterfully conquering his bovine counterpart, Vieira was marked 89.5 points for his efforts, good enough to hold off Colten Jesse (Konawa, Oklahoma) by 2.25 points.

New Opportunity Created for Female Athletes Seeking New World Title!

WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) and PBR (Professional Bull Riders) have announced a new, breakthrough event in women’s rodeo: the Women’s Rodeo World Championship, taking place at South Point Equestrian Center on November 3-7.
