Shiners Voodoo Dr, by NRHA Four Million Dollar Sire Shining Spark and out of Voodoo Chic (by NRHA Six Million Dollar Sire Smart Chic Olena), a 2007 stallion, crossed the Million Dollar Sire mark last week as announced by his owner Michael Miola of Silver Spurs Equine. The fancy-looking palomino stallion stands at Silver Spurs Equine in Purcell, Oklahoma.

Shiners Voodoo Dr has had a successful career with Silver Spurs - Oklahoma's manager and NRHA Professional Thiago Boechat. The duo started their career together at the 2010 Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic, where they captured the Level 3 & 2 Open Futurity Championships. Later on, the team went to compete at the 2010 NRHA Futurity, where they made the Level 4 Open finals. 2012 was a great year for Shiners Voodoo Dr: In the summer, he became the NRHA Derby Level 4 Open Co-Reserve Champion with the NRHA Two Million Dollar Rider Todd Bergen, and later that year, the team competed at the AQHA World Show making the Junior Reining Open Finals. “Voodoo” came back the next year to again compete successfully in the NRHA Open Derby, making the Level 4 Open finals. During his show career, the stallion won close to $86,000.

Voodoo’s owner, Michael Miola of Scottsdale, AZ, recalls of the stallion, "I love his look. He is a gorgeous athletic palomino that passes his athleticism to his offspring. On the ground, he is a puppy dog: When I'm in Oklahoma, I let him out and walk him around. He's is a sweetheart!"

Michael Miola has a unique relationship with all his stallions and if you wonder why and how, well, here's his answer:  "First of all we like to set up our stallions in stalls where they can see and talk to each other," he explains. "Horses are extremely social animals and we make sure that there are not confined to a stall with no interaction with others. When a new stallion comes in, he may be a little aggressive with his neighbors but it truly only lasts a few minutes after which he calms down and begins to socialize. I know each and every one of my stallion's personality — I know them inside out and, when they see me they all nuzzle up to me. Truth be told, I'd rather be with them than with people," he adds with a laugh.

Michael and Michelle Miola have made a point of putting together a broad spectrum of stallions to choose from and their customer service — as told by customers themselves — is exceptional. Silver Spurs is the largest stallion owner and one of the biggest breeders in the U.S. selling over 2,500 breedings a year at reasonable prices. "Silver Spurs always strives to bring stallions with great bloodlines to our breeders at the lowest breeding fees possible so that they always have economical choices when breeding their next champion," added Miola.

Voodoo Dr’s offspring have proven to be really versatile as they successfully compete in reining, reined cow horse, ranch classes, barrels, and other western classes. In reining, his offspring already won over $900,000 in competitions, which will soon make the stallion the newest NRHA Million Dollar Sire.
