The NRHA European Futurity and IRHA/IRHBA Futurity 2020 is Postponed to 15-22 MAY 2021

The NRHA European Futurity and IRHA/IRHBA Futurity 2020 is Postponed to 15-22 MAY 2021 International Horse Press

After monitoring the recent situation and with the intention of better safeguarding the health and safety of our horses by allowing members to be able to conclude a vaccination cycle and/or organize a test for themselves and/or their horses, the 2020 NRHA European Futurity dates will begin on May 15th and will go through May 22nd. Horses will be allowed to move in starting May 12th but the arena will be available only from May 13th onward. In no way will the show be further postponed.

Roberto Cuoghi and the Italian Reining Horse Association have been working tirelessly to monitor the situation with the EHV-1 outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic. The health and well-being of every person and horse is of the utmost priority for the Italian Reining Horse Association, the European Executive Board, and NRHA. Due to this reason, those persons who are not competing, part of a competitor's team, or an owner will not be allowed to attend as the event will be closed to the public.

Roberto Cuoghi has hired a professional cleaning company to come in and sterilize the facility. Every horse entering the facility must have a negative EHV-1 test within 5 days of arrival and every person entering the facility must have a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of arrival. In addition, if any person or horse in your home facility is positive for either EHV-1 or COVID-19 you will not be allowed to attend.

A team of veterinarians will also be present at the entrance to monitor the health of the horses. See protocol HERE

Prior to leaving, please make sure you read the full requirements for coming to the European Futurity.

The protocol can be found here and remains the same with the addition of personnel responsible for sanitizing the wash stalls after each use. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the organizers. Furthermore, foreign horses will be stabled separately from other horses.

If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact show management.

Mr Gary Carpenter, NRHA Commissioner, who has been monitoring the situation from the beginning, concludes: “We cannot thank Mr. Cuoghi and the Italian Reining Horse association enough for managing this event in these unprecedented times, and we look forward to a successful Futurity!”
