With riders representing 12 countries (France, Italy, Poland, Israel, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Canada, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovenia and Belgium), 236 horses made way to the functional and beautifully welcoming Austrian facility. Emotions, great rides, and a participant public filled he last day of competition which saw the last champions of 2021 crowned.

Rzepka performs the run of her life aboard Wimpy Walla Whiz to win the 4-year-old Level 4 and 3 Open Futurity
As the sun was going down behind the arena and the day was coming to an end, so was the Finals time and the last class was up: the $14,000-added 4-year-old Level 4 and $5,000-added 4-year-old Level 3 Open Futurity awaited their winner until Sylvia Rzepka and Wimpy Walla Whiz stepped in the arena. It was clear to both the rider and the crowd that this was going to be a run to remember. Coming out of her second stop and rollback, Rzepka already had a big smile on her face, and after the conclusion of the run, she gave her horse a big hug. As they were walking out of the pen, a well-deserved score of 227.5 was announced followed by a standing ovation and loud cheer from the spectators.

Riding Zsolt Méder’s 4-year-old stallion by the NRHA Twelve Million Dollar Sire Wimpys Little Step and out of Memorable Walla Whiz (by NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Walla Walla Whiz), Rzepka knew that they had a chance to reach the top scores when she was warming up the horse. “Something can always happen, but I knew that today was the day when the horse could do it and I just had to stay calm. He felt just perfect,“ said Rzepka after their run.

She mentioned that she came a long way with the stallion since last year. “He was a big stud, so we had to work hard in his 3-year-old year, but this past winter everything started coming together. He was really nice for me in Cremona, Italy, and from there he just started getting better and better. Tonight, it felt like the best run of my life!”

Riding to the Reserve spot in Level 4 Open Finals were two renowned riders and past Futurity Champions: Lukasz Czechowicz with Katarzyna Roleska’s RR Wimpyslittlerome (NRHA Twelve Million Dollar Sire Wimpys Little Step x KR When In Rome x NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Spooks Gotta Whiz) and Gennaro Lendi riding Stefano Roberti’s Frozenfromhell (Inferno Sixty Six x Nic Sailor x Frozen Sailor). Both combinations scored a 222.5.

The Level 3 Reserve Champion title was awarded after the very last run of the show, when Jonas Bujnoch and PL Not Trashy (NRHA Four Million Dollar Sire Gunnatrashya x Nu Chex Donna x NRHA Four Million Dollar Sire Nu Chex To Cash) scored another 222.5 for owner Petr Julina.

Touroute-Thomas and The Electric Bandit sweep the 3-year-old Level 4 & 3 Open Futurity
Jeffrey Touroute-Thomas and The Electric Bandit (Dont Miss My Guns x Electra Stop Ruff x Jacs Electric Stop) had a stellar run in the Finals. The duo scored a 218, securing the $16,000-added Level 4 and $7,000-added Level 3 Open Futurity Championships. The 3-year-old stallion is owned by Alexandre Giarratano.

Touroute-Thomas was pleased with his horse. “He was really good; waited for me and did what I asked him to. He is always the same, no matter if it is in the show pen or out. He has big stops, very stylish, and today he proved that.” After evaluating his run, the French rider was happy that today he had a clean run and avoided penalties from the go round.

Reserve honors were split in both levels: The Level 4 Reserve Championship was claimed by Dominik Reminder aboard Jaqueline Seger’s Rock Crusher (NRHA Million Dollar Sire Shine Chic Shine x Jokin Peppy x Hangten Peppy) with a 217 score.

Johannes Hasenauer and Stepup For Lil Gun (Lil Gun x Step Up And Play x NRHA Twelve Million Dollar Sire Wimpys Little Step) owned by Stefan Loeffler captured Level 3 Reserve Championship.

Third time the charm for Monti and Valentina Baby Pale in the 4-year-old Level 4 and 3 Non Pro Futurity
Saving the best for their third and last run of the week were Valentina Monti and her homebred mare Valentina Baby Pale (NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire Pale Face Dunnit x OT Luky Highway Baby x Topgun Whiz). The duo walked into the arena when the top score, a 214, was posted two draws earlier. Monti and the 4-year-old mare performed a breathtaking run, awarded a 216 by the judges, claiming both the $6,000-added Level 4 and $2,000-added Level 2 Non Pro Championships. The win comes after the pair already tied for yesterday’s 4-year-old Level 2 Non Pro Futurity Championship.

Monti was speechless after her run. “I never imagined the success we could have had at this show,” she shared. “We practiced a little bit last night after our Level 1 and 2 Finals run because I wanted to improve our right circles. She understood everything and today she was a star! I am very happy about our run and very thankful for this win.” After returning from the show, Monti plans to give the mare a well-deserved break so that she can enjoy ‘just being a horse.’

Georgia Wilk rode her own mare Pretty Whiz Chic (Winnie The Boo x Rey Nic Chic x NRHA Seven Million Dollar Sire Smart Chic Olena) to a score of 214 to claim the Level 4 Reserve Championship.

The duo also split the Level 3 Reserve Championship with Franziska Wegner and her mare ND A Dance Wiz Walla (NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Walla Walla Whiz x Resolve To Dance x NRHA Million Dollar Sire Einstein), who also scored 214 in their run.

Wallner and her little mare with big heart reach for the 3-year-old Level 4 Non Pro Championship
German Franziska Wallner was emotional when she found out she and her mare Xtra Shine Anna (NRHA Million Dollar Sire Shiners Voodoo Dr x JD Conquista Anna x NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire Conquistador Whiz) won the $6,000-aded 3-year-old Level 4 Non Pro Futurity.

“I feel amazing, I can’t even describe the run…my mare is an unbelievable horse. She was with me the whole time, listening and following my directions closely. At home, she is simply a quiet little horse. Nobody believed in her except for us and I am really happy about it. She is very good minded,” noted the touched Champion. “We plan to take her to the German Breeders Futurity and I want to do the same with her there,” added Wallner about her future plans for the mare.

Krosejl adds another victory in 3-year-old Level 3 Non Pro Futurity
Fresh off her win in Levels 2 and 1 yesterday, Tamara Krosejl and her stallion Gunner Hez Chics (Heza Gunner x Walla Walla Chics x NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Walla Walla Whiz) enjoyed their run today adding another victory to their resume. The duo topped the $2,000-added Level 3 with a score of 213.5 which also earned them a Reserve Championship in the Level 4.

“Our run was the same as yesterday, only better,” said smiling Krosejl. “I felt much calmer going in, not as nervous. My horse was great, but I can feel that he is a little tired after the whole week. It is only the second show in his life and I am super proud of him. He is really easy; at home you don’t even know he is a stallion.”

Giuseppe Maurogiovanni rode his mare Harrys Gunna Whiz (NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Walla Walla Whiz x Harrys Gun x NRHA Twelve Million Dollar Sire Gunner) to Reserve honors scoring a 209.
