The ERCHA Pre Futurity Turns Eighteen!

Travagliato, July 26 — Provided by Simona Diale — The European Reined Cow Horse Association (ERCHA) is proud to announce that the ERCHA/NRCHA Pre Futurity, a competition open to 3-, and 4-year-old horses shown in a snaffle bit or hackamore, is celebrating its eighteenth edition at the Palacittá facility located in Travagliato, Italy.

Makayla Cowan of Ardmore, Okla. marked 218 on Brinking Lights to lead the first round of the Holy Cow Performance Horses Senior Youth World Finals. She came into the World Finals tied for 11th place in the World Standings. She and Brinking Lights won the Senior Youth championship at The Non-Pro Cutting this year, and were champions of that show’s $15,000 Amateur class last year.

It was a good night for reigning gold medalists at the Komatsu Equipment Days of '47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo presented by Zions Bank in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night with all three advancing for a chance at yet another gold medal. Three of last year’s gold medalists competed tonight and they didn’t disappoint the Utah fans. Looking to add more gold to their resumes are steer wrestler Justin Shaffer, saddle bronc rider Cody DeMoss and barrel racer Hailey Kinsel.

Lucchese Cogdell, Tulia, Tex., reserve champion of the 2019 Metallic Cat Classic Challenge Non-Pro Limited Finals on July 17, riding Yall Im Countin, showed McClintockk to earn 219 points, the high score on Monday, July 22, the third day of Classic Challenge Rios of Mercedes Amateur and McAlister Assets Amateur Unlimited go-round competition.

It was a hot night at the Komatsu Equipment Days of '47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo presented by Zions Bank in Salt Lake City on Monday night both in temperature and rodeo action.
    An 18-time WPRA World Champion Jackie Crawford turned in a blistering fast run in the new event of women’s breakaway on Monday night at the Days of ’47 Arena. Crawford of Stephenville, Texas, has never had a chance to compete for an Olympic-style medal and would definitely be a highlight of her storied career if she could leave Salt Lake City as the winner. She stopped the clock in 2.95 seconds to win the performance on night No. 3.

Langston Pattillo, St. Elmo, Ill., the NCHA earner of $310,122, won the McAlister Assets NCHA Derby Amateur Unlimited go-round competition with 221 points on Zinging Some Reys. While Marco Salvatori, Modena, Italy, the earner of $78,067, scored 219 points on Twisted Red Faye to win the Rios of Mercedes Amateur go-round. His score also ranked second among entrants in the Unlimited Amateur go-round. And Barnwell Ramsey, Huntersville, N.C., the NCHA earner of $219,867, scored 218 points aboard Reyzn Checks to qualify for the finals of both divisions, as well.

The Komatsu Equipment Days of '47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo presented by Zions Bank in Salt Lake City kicked off in fine fashion on Friday night, July 19. Canadian turned Nebraskan Orin Larsen finished atop the leaderboard with an 86.25 point ride aboard Powder River Rodeo’s Blue Collar.

Regan Plendl, Kingsley, Iowa, the second rider to work in the Metallic Cat NCHA Classic Challenge Non-Pro Finals, won the championship with 220 points riding Cats Lightning Rey, by NRR Cat King Cole. Megan Miller, Poolville, Tex., scored 219 points for the reserve championship on Carolena Reyn, by Dual Smart Rey, while Julie Jarma, Whitesboro, Tex., and Langston Pattillo, St. Elmo, Ill., tied for third with 217.5 points on Hott Heels and High Stylin CD, respectively.

Saturday closed the great edition of the 2019 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Affiliate Championship held at Tuse Creek Ranch, Regstrup, Denmark, managed by NRHA Norway and NRHA Denmark. Close to 150 horses made their way to the great facility and a total of over 450 entries!
